Well, did my morning online browsing as usual (checking mail status, etc.) when I came across something interesting. When I first watched this clip on Youtube, I found it pretty cool, but also hard to believe (like this was some Christmas Holiday joke). A drone machine delivering a package to your house in 30 minutes? That seems impossible to me. Well, here's footage and news articles if you want to see for yourself:

Well, I can find the flying technology believable because technology seems really advanced at creating something like this, however, there are a few questions I have (I'm sure most of us have asked when first seeing this) on how is this new technology going to be very promising or successful?
1.) How will the machine know where to drop off the package, such as finding the front door?
I know that the drone will have GPS coordinates installed which will tell it where to go, but where exactly is the package going to be dropped off? I doubt that this machine is smart enough to figure out where the front door is. Well, this would be troublesome for apartment/condo complexes. It wouldn't surprise me to see a flying drone drop off a package on someone's roof.
2.) What would Amazon do if the drone was shot down by somebody or the package was stolen?
This is probably one of the most common question that a lot of people asked. There are some people out there that would probably love to destroy a flying drone or even just knock it down to steal the package. If Amazon is going to be REALLY serious about this new invention, they need to figure out some security features for this drone. It wouldn't hurt for them to install a secret video camera just to make sure the device gets to and from safely. Good luck to Amazon figuring out this one.
3.) How would this work worldwide if this drone can only go a certain amount of miles?
My guess is that this Amazon Prime Air would only be available in certain areas in the US and I'm sure other countries (that have Amazon warehouses) will be getting these drones too. I don't expect to see this happen everywhere and I doubt it'll happen where I'm living. There's no way this thing could travel overseas to deliver a package in 30 minutes. I can tell you right now that that's a lie, but as I said before; this Amazon Air Prime is probably only going to be available in certain areas.
4.) What would happen if the drone got caught in a bad storm? (Snow, Lightning, Wind, etc.)
Okay, this is probably the #1 question asked and it's indeed a good question. I don't really know the answer to this, but my guess is that Amazon probably made this drone water proof and probably has had it tested. If not, Amazon should find a solution for this drone to get through terrible storms. Either that or Amazon would post a policy stating: NOT RESPONSIBLE IF PACKAGE GETS LOST IN STORM.
5.) How much would it cost for this 30 minute delivery?
I have absolutely no idea
, but my guess is that it'll cost more than regular shipping through mail. Probably for 30 minute delivery, it'll cost $30.00. Who knows?
Anyways, do you think that this invention is for real or just a joke so Amazon can attract more people to buy things? Well to me, I still don't know what to make of this. Yes, I do believe that technology is advanced into making flying drone machine, but for delivery, I dunno
I mean we already have something that delivers our packages in the air. It's called an airplane, does anyone remember those? *sarcasm* All jokes aside, this invention does interest me, but it just seems unbelievable. Something delivered in 30 minutes from the air, no way. Well nobody will know for sure until 2015. From what I know, that's when the announcement will be made for these things to start launching..........I guess.
Well, that's all for now. Got A LOT
to do this week, but I'll be back on when this week ends.
